Worship Information and Time

Sunday Worship, 10am
Sunday School for all ages, 9am

After 20 years of worshipping in two services, we have decided to return to one service. It is so good to be together in one service again, as we fill our Sanctuary with worship and joy.

Each Sunday, we gather at 10am. Our worship normally features a mixture of piano and organ and is led by our Chancel Choir. We will frequently have special solos and presentations from our handbell choir, the Chalice Ringers, as well as special music with acoustic guitars, flutes and other instruments.

We always include a time for our Children to come forward called the “Children’s sermon”, usually led by one of our pastors and focused on the theme of that Sunday or time of year. After the Children’s sermon, we usually have a time where we greet one another called “the passing of the peace.” Expect a lot of noise during this time, as we like to walk around and speak to one another, shake hands and share hugs.

Normally, we have a time called “prayers of the people” where prayer requests are offered from the congregation. After a prayer request is shared, we “make the request our prayer” by saying together, “Hear our prayer.”

Sermons are usually preached by one of our two pastors, and are often around 12-15 minutes long. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, but we also recognize that God’s Spirit is still speaking. The sermon is a time where we can hear God speak again and anew through the preached word in our day and time. Our pastors will often lead us to think deeper, but rarely will they give us easy answers, quick fixes and bullet points towards salvation. We believe that the faith journey is a journey, where we’re always learning and growing, and never in this life arrive at all the answers. But more important than having the right answers is learning how to ask the right questions.

The most important time of our worship is Communion. Communion is shared every Sunday in a variety of formats, and everyone is always welcome to share in communion. As a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we believe that the communion table is open to all. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, what you believe, what you’ve done or where you are on your faith journey–you are always welcome at Christ’s table. We try to always have a gluten-free option for communion, as well as cups of water for those who are unable to drink grape juice.

You will always see a mixture of attire in our worship. Most important is your presence. What you wear is up to you.

An attended nursery is available during Sunday School and Worship for ages 5 and under. For your convenience, the nursery is located right beside the Sanctuary.

Coffee Fellowship
After worship, we always gather in our Fellowship Hall for a time of fellowship with coffee and some sweet treat provided by church members. This is a great time to get to know one another better and to speak to our pastors.
