Our next Craft Day will be Saturday, March 10. The church will be open from 8 – 2 with work on monthly project beginning at 9.
March 10th we’ll be creating ribbon hair bands

If you have any of the materials needed, we would appreciate your donation.

In April (date to be announced) the Craft Day will be “Learn to Crochet” with several simple projects to choose from.
If you have your own craft project and just need some time away from the family to work on it, pack it up to the church and join us.

Pastor’s Class/Baptism

During Lent, Pastor Dayna works with fifth graders in preparation
for baptism. Pastor’s Class meets during our regularly scheduled
JYF, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, with the exception of a long afternoon on
an early out Wednesday. Here is the schedule:
Wednesday, March 7, 12:30-5 PM (early out no JYF)
Wednesday, March 14, 4-5 PM
Wednesday, March 28, 4-5 PM
Wednesday, April 4, 4-5
Baptisms will be held on Easter Sunday, April 8. If you want to learn
more about baptism contact Pastor Dayna.

Youth Donation Drive

Fifteen youth and four sponsors participated in a Youth Mission Retreat in downtown Des Moines. What an amazing weekend! We had a wonderful time and experienced things that I am sure will leave a lasting impression. All of the kids were incredible! They worked really hard and asked lots of questions – I was so proud of them! As we processed the weekend, the group wanted to do something to help some of the agencies that we worked with. I loved that idea!

So as we’ve met in preparation for Youth Sunday, they decided that they want to do a donation drive that will end on Youth Sunday, April 15th. Three organizations (Joppa Outreach, Hope Ministries & Hawthorn Hill) had a profound impact on them and the youth want your help in showing these organizations how much they appreciate what they do. Starting today we will be collecting the following items to put together hygiene bags.

Bar Soap

Shampoo

Deodorant ( men & women)

Shampoo (travel size)

Toothbrushes

Toothpaste (travel size)

Toothbrush covers

Kleenex (pocket packs)

Disposable razors (men & women)

Shaving Cream (small containers)

Washcloths

The youth would also like to collect the following items to be

taken to Joppa Outreach for the homeless that live in camps.

20lb propane tanks

Batteries (all sizes)

Winter sleeping bags

Blankets

Coats (adult)

Gloves (adult)

Stocking Hats (adult)

Cleaning Supplies

Laundry detergent

Bottled Water (gallon jugs)

Please have all donations to the church by Sunday, April 15th.

Soup Lunch Fundraiser

The Youth will be hosting a Soup Lunch on Sunday, April 1st
after the 10:30 service. The lunch will be a fundraiser for their
Summer Mission Trips. If you would like to bring soup or
bread for the lunch, please talk to Diana. We have a lot of
excitement with the youth right now and many of them are
planning on going on these trips. Please join us in this time of
fellowship and support for the youth of our congregation.

Youth Sunday

On Sunday, April 15th we will have Youth Sunday at Norwalk Christian Church. On Youth Sunday the services are created entirely by youth and led by them. This will be their opportunity to share with the congregation what their faith means to them. The youth will lead both services. The schedule for planning sessions/practice time for CYF & Chi Rho is:

Wednesday, March 7th – 5:00pm

Wednesday, March 14th – 5:00pm

We are also inviting all of the younger kids to participate in the opening music of the Youth Sunday services. The kids will be learning the song in Sunday School, JYF and Dinkys.

We will have a couple of practice times here at the church for all the youth to gather to run through the service.

If you have a favorite recipe or recipes that you would
like put in the book, the deadline is approaching fast.
